Just saw this movie yesterday and… wow… an absolute masterpiece.

I have heard nothing but great things about this movie.
it’s not a movie for everybody
The story is perfect in its simplicity. The cinematography, as you can see, is outstanding. But, above all, little Catinca Untaru’s performance is what really makes this movie incredible.
Most of the criticisms I have heard are unfounded. The fantasy story within the story is the imagination of a six-year-old. It isn’t supposed to be super-elaborate. Some of the fantasy characters are just sort of there; rather 2-dimensional. But it all makes sense with the overall story. The only complaint I have is that the villain in the fantasy story has almost no part. But then, the story doesn’t so much concern him.
Whatever. I agree with Roger Ebert on this one: 4 stars.

Same guy did The Cell. Even though that movie sucked, the visuals were amazing.

Yeah, The Cell sucked in terms of story and characters. The Fall is good all around.
The Best Buy website has this listed for a September 9th DVD release.
I’ll be buying this one.
But damnit I want to be able to see this movie now.
My friend said it right, it was like watching 2 hours of cinematic interpretive dance.

The movie got distribution just a couple months ago. There are no torrents for it. It most likely won’t be online until September 9th when the DVD comes out. This movie makes me want to go out and get a large 1080p television and blueray player so that I can see it in blueray. Plus, that way I’ll be ready for The Dark Knight when it comes out on blueray next year.
