So I saw Step Brothers tonight
AND IT WAS AWFUL.
Granted, a small handful of parts were LOL funny, but most of the movie I just sat there, shaking my head. Another stupid Will Ferrell comedy.
If you like dumb Will Ferrell comedies with no real jokes, just him being stupid, doing lame things that adults typically don’t do unless they’re morons, then this is totally your movie x 2 because John C. Reilly is his clone!
I was all the way through. Lots of black people were laughing, though…so who knows

He hasn’t done anything good since Anchorman, Old School, and his cameo in Wedding Crashers.
I seem to be in the minority here, but I love Talladega Nights. It’s one of my favorite comedies of the last decade.
Talladega Nights was awesome! Stranger than Fiction and Blades of Glory were both extremely entertaining movies as well.
I’m sure I will love it, like I love every horrible movie they put out.
It doesnt look good. I dont think I have ever really like a Will Farrell movie that was just Will Farrell. I have liked him in movies where he isnt the main character like Old School and Wedding Crashers but not really any of the others. Talladega Nights is probably my fav if I was forced to choice. Anchorman was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
My mom wants to go see this, but I have mixed feelings about going with. The previews look funny, but it’s a whole different story to sit through 1 1/2 to 2 hours of stupidity.
I’ll probably pass and let my mom and stepdad use it as a date.
The trailer has really grown on me. I’m looking forward to this one.
Best movie starring Will Ferrel is Stranger Than Fiction. It stars Will Ferrel, but is NOT a “Will Ferrel movie.”
They won’t get my $10 for this movie & I usually like Ferrel. Just looks too inane & cliche. MAybe Will has jumped the shark.
Same character in every movie (with the exception of Stranger Than Fiction). Always plays some obstinate buffoon that does things no human being on earth does.

His movies feel like the South Park description of Family Guy
would you honestly expect anything better from Will Ferrell? Intelligent comedy is not his style, either is slapstick for that matter.
You enter your friends name and cell number, and then they get a fake phone call from the cast. I thought it was pretty creative, my brother and I got a laugh out of it when I had them call him.

One of my favorite comedies of all-time is Dumb and Dumber, and I doubt this approaches its greatness. I’ll rent it later via Netflix.

Went and saw it today with the parents. It was funny, I was laughing a lot, but it was all very stupid, immature, brain cell killing humor. Writers must have been high when they wrote the script…it’s basically 2 40 year old men who act like 7 year olds.
Way way too much unrealistic profanity. Tons of swearing, even in professional settings…the whole move was just absurdly ridiculous.
Hell, the humor comes from the complete unrealism/absurdity of the plot.
Ferrel and Reilly are just killing their chances to ever be cast in anything decent in the future.
Considering Ferrell’s great job in Stranger Than Fiction basically went unnoticed and John C. Reilly was in serious drama’s for years doing incredible acting jobs (and going completely unnoticed)…I think they are very comfortable in their roles as comedic actors.

this movie was funny as shit, I basically never stopped laughing, I was a huge fan of Sandler and Carrey fims as a teenager growing up (in case you want some background on where my opinion is coming from)
I highly suggest seeing it if you want to be entertained and enjoy a good laugh. it obviously doesn’t try to be serious at all…
Can I ask you why you like him so much? I’m not trying troll, flame or whatever I just dont’ find him funny at all and think he’s obnoxious.
I’ve never really liked Will Ferrell since Anchorman. Everything else he’s done has seemed overhyped and not that funny (compared the genius that was Anchorman)

First half of Talladega Nights was but the second half blew goat testicles. I’m not seeing this until it’s out to Rent.
I saw it tonight after a few drinks, and I thought it was fucking amazing. I never stopped laughing or just sitting in disbelief. and i’m so glad they beat the shit out of those little kids.
I finally saw this movie last night… I wasn’t that impressed. It started off funny, but about half way through it just dies and never recovers.
I honestly think that if it had been rated PG-13 and about 15 minutes shorter, it would have been an awesome movie. As it was, the extra 15 minutes of people adding “fuck” to a normal sentence just wasn’t that entertaining. They could have cut every scene Will Farrels brother was in and it would have helped.
That movie was the only movie that he was the main character in that was any funny. All the others blew. He is much better as a supporting actor. His role in Old School was great.
His stuff is getting old like Jim Carrey did in the 90s.
