any one else see this movie?
the gf was intersted in it so i rented it for her. from the one preview i saw i NEVER expected to see some of the crazy shit in this movie.
its way out there and at the end of the movie i was not quite sure if i liked it or loved it for its uniqueness.
thoughts?
that last scene with all the people fucking was nuts.
go read the book, its a fantastic read.
i thought the movie royally sucked and didnt crossover well to the screen.
the writers description was so vivid and the main character was a total miniature ogre.
oh yeah, and i think the director pussied out on the kill scenes.
never read the book so i had no translation to compare to. ill check it out, thanks for the heads up!
It’s a poor adaptation from the book, which really isn’t anyones fault except whoevers idea it was to take a book, which primarily deals with someones thoughts and try to make a movie about it.
Eh the movie wasnt that bad…jesus(p.s. I loved the book)
Haven’t read the book yet, but I’ll definately have to pick it up.

i loved the movie!!!!! i think the orgy scene at the end kindo kills it a bit.. but it’s still an excellent movie… i;d giv it a 4.5/5, although i’v never read the book
I made it a little over halfway through and gave up on the turd (which it most certainly was). It was hoaky as hell, and just really, really dumb.
It was a turd? Just like your avatar i suppose. Tool is overratted. This coming from someone who likes them(kinda). 10000 days(or lateralus part2) was a huge dissapointment. Anyway back to the subject at hand. Not a turd at all.
It was just DUMB. "I must preserve the essence of a woman!!" The main character was unbelievable as all hell. It was like a wannabe superhero/villain movie set in Ye Olde France.
Ill admit it is a goofy story. But that is what makes it so unique.
I really loved the movie overall, but the orgy scene really dropped it down a notch for me.
Going to check the book out, though.
Hahahah this movie, I thought for sure the guy was gonna die, and then the movie fucking stunned me, I was laughing my ass off at the directors audacity. WTF seriously ahahah a hanging turns into an all-out orgy because he has the "scent" of royalty now, akin to a god. And then in the end where he gets devoured…wow this movie was certainly original but also partly ridiculous.
