Order of the Phoenix

OMG GOING SOON ITS GONNA BE THE BEST FRIKKIN MOVIE EVER!

I saw it last Thursday. It is excellent.

As usual they had to cut out a TON of things that will always irk me just a little, but I felt they did a good job at tying in the main points at the end.

Also, every new character was excellent. Very good casting job.
After Goblet of Fire, I am very hesitant in seeing this movie. GoF sucked really bad. Anyone who has read the books would know what I am talking about.
im not really into harry potter but this movie looks pretty good
I LOVE the harry potter books, like I’ve been counting down how many days are left since January and I loved the goblet of fire movie, My main thing though is that when I go to watch the movies I don’t expect to see the same as the book because if they did it would be 5 hours long and still missing details. I just go in expecting the main idea of the story there and hope it works

gof was my favorite book, and the movie didnt really live up to all that hype. i still say azkaban was the best movie, but this one is looking really good

GOF is still my fav book and they really didn’t do such a good job on it… *sigh*

Hope this one is better
I AM PISSED. I wanted to re read this book before i saw the movie and came to realize my ex girlfriend has it….

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Can’t wait to see it.

Hopefully I won’t have to wait until it’s on HBO either.

The problems with the GoF movie isnt that they cut stuff out, but they cut characters out and changed the story. Changing the story is ridiculous, their is no reason for it.

youve seen?

Yes, all answers here:

wow I was really let down by this movie. The special effects seemed weak, they tore the book into pieces and changed so much for little reason from the original story that as a fan I was HIGHLY disappointed with how the executed the whole movie, even if I hadn’t previously read and reread all the books religiously some of the scenes didn’t make sense unless you had read the books. All in all though I would give the movie a 7/10.

That was my exact feelings about GoF. They seemed to change things just to change it.
Saw it last night. I wasn’t let down as much as AJAX was, but the movie seemed to move hella fast. I think they should have taken an extra half hour and explained shit more, I’m sure all the Harry Potter fans and just the movie watchers would understand being this is the longest Harry Potter book with the most plot development of the series thus far.

edit: plus I lol’d hard when Voldemort possessed Harry, and Harry was going through flashbacks, and everything was quiet a and then they show Voldey and he’s like "Dah!" and sticks his arms out. I almost cried.
i just wanna know where the DA coins were. they play a part in book 6 as well.
Yea, saw it last night as well, have to say it was pretty good, they could have however, thrown a few more things from the book that they left out… The whole idea of the prophecy wasn’t even mentioned until the last 15 mins. In any case, best part of the movie, and I will eventually make a gif of this, is the part where Dumbledore is supposed to be arrested, and he disappears and shit, black dude sayin, man Dumbledores got style… definitely making a gif saying nigga stole my dumbledores.
o and my biggest complaint, whos idea was it to make the longest book in the series into the shortest movie thus far?

good call.. dunno..
I thought it was only ok. They just left way too much stuff out from the book. I guess if you hadn’t read the book it would be a pretty good movie
I enjoyed it, but it seemed rushed. Entire movie of montages lol.
Snape Kills Dumbeldore lmfao. Which book was that? the 4th?

6th I think, I was hoping it was this one but he didn’t die.

I AM PISSED. I wanted to re read this book before i saw the movie and came to realize my ex girlfriend has it….

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I think you are better off not re-reading the book before the movie. It makes you realize how much they cut out.

I liked the movie, good action & I think the three primaries are better actors now.

I do plan to read book 6 before book 7 comes out.

Snape kills Dumbledore in the 6th book.
LOL that ytmnd was funny….

as for the flick….it was highly enjoyable, fast action, did feel a little rushed…even chopped off at the end. I did not re-read the book before seeing it b/c i figured it would make me not like the movie….i will re-read it now to see all that was left out and confirm what was changed (i.e. the real snitch on DA). anyway, i too was disappointed that the longest book had teh shortest movie but overall i liked it and i did like it better than GoF….which IMO is the worst of the series to date (movie wise).
saw it like an hour ago

was a good film

one of my fav bits was when the black guys goes" you gotta admit he’s got style"

This movie was the best of them by far. It wasn’t close to the details of the book, but it didn’t need to cover that to be a great movie.

The rate at which time passed was acceptable and the plot was well trimmed for use on the big screen. They still managed to capture the changing of Hogwarts over that school year, and developed Umbridge’s character very well.

gof was my favorite book, and the movie didnt really live up to all that hype. i still say azkaban was the best movie, but this one is looking really good

The Goblet of Fire was also my favorite book, but going into it I knew that there was no way they could cover half of the plot in that book.

As far as the movies go, I would rank (best to worst) them in this order:

Order of the Phoenix
Prisoner of Azkaban
Chamber of Secrets
Sorcerer’s Stone
Goblet of Fire

It’s funny though, because my favorite book is Goblet of Fire and my least favorite book is Order of the Phoenix.
So I know this is some major bumpage, but I just went and saw the film for the 2nd time tonight. Great movie to watch…but in the back of my mind, I was shuddering at all the chopping they did both from book five and book six. LEVICORPUS wasn’t used until book 6, right?

Very little Ron and Hermione compared to GoF…I enjoyed seeing that stuff in the previous film. I did notice a lot more of the little looks Ginny was giving Harry…gives me hope for the next film.

And finally…Tonks kinda had a nice rack going on.

When do we get the DVD? I’ll have to buy it.
I didn’t like the movie at all…and almost considered walking out multiple times throughout the movie. The only reason I didn’t was because I didn’t pay for it and I thought it would be rude to the person who did.

The movie was totally rushed and it felt like they took maybe a page from each chapter and threw it into the movie without any explanation or back story whatsoever. I don’t see how anybody who hasn’t read the book could keep up or understand what the hell was going on. They left out sooooooo much information that even though I did read the book, I felt like I couldn’t keep up with the movie.

And they totally fucked up the fight scene before Dumbledore and Voldermort. I mean, the movie version wasn’t bad, but compared to the book it was completely wrong. Dumbledore was supposed to basically be playing with Voldermort and not even having to dodge his spells at all. Oh! And he was supposed to bring the fountain creatures to life to have them take the Avada Kedavra spells instead of him. That was my favorite chapter from any book and I remember Dumbledore even calling Voldermort "Tom" just to show his caddy attitude towards the whole situation and put Voldermort in his place.

But that’s just my two cents =/
I just saw the movie today. I almost wish I hadnt already read the book. They just left too much out. I wonder how the last two movies will be?

probably shitty, unless they make the film long enough to make it right
