New Spider Man Trailer

It actually looks like it’ll be better than Raimi’s.

Will not watch. Enough rebooting shit that nobody gives a fuck about.

Well, Garfield will make a better Parker and Spider Man than Maguire. Also, I really like 500 Days of Summer, and the same director made this.

500 days of summer is not a superhero action movie. Either way, reboots need to stop.

I dont care anymore.

There’s no doubt that the trailer looks cool and I will probably watch the movie, but I’m really not digging the villain at all and I’m really burnt out not just from the Spiderman movies, but from all of the superhero movies and constant remakes in general. This definitely looks like a quality production, but it’s going to have to be really good in order to stand out among all of the other super hero movies that Hollywood had shamelessly milked to death over the past decade.

Indeed, sir. Indeed. Reboot shit nobody fucking cares about, make public stay home.

Well, the trailer at least looks better than the majority of superhero movies. Dare I say this trailer looks better than The Avengers.

The idea of The Avengers is great. But so far I haven’t been particularly impressed by the footage released. And if we’re basing it on the track record of the individual movies that lead up to the forming of The Avengers, then I’d say that The Avengers movie will be mediocre to good, but not great. I hope it’s awesome.

I’m surprised that some people still aren’t over the fact that they’re rebooting Spider Man. And while Marc Webb isn’t a well-established director like, say, Chris Nolan, you have to remember that Nolan had Following and Memento under his belt (non-superhero movies) before he made Batman Begins. So that’s really a non-argument.

And Marc Webb has nothing under his belt aside from 500 days of summer, music docs on shit bands and an episode of the office. Memento that does not equal I’m afraid. Your argument for the merits of Marc Webb are invalid. In any event, Chris Nolan is not an amazing director and the batman reboot is also shit, with the exception of The Dark Knight and the win for that lay entirely at one man’s feet and that is most certainly NOT Christ Nolan. His crowning achievements in storytelling will remain Memento and Inception. Everything is is trite by comparison.

I’m not annoyed by the rebooting of super hero movies. I’m annoyed by the rebooting of shit that doesn’t need it. Star Trek did not require it, it was fine to lay dormant. Superman didn’t need it. Time for new heroes. Batman didn’t either. Retelling the same story over and over just because you can draw audiences in to see the newest version is… kind of like iphone 4s. Arguing this point with you is sort of the same. You’ll use the same argument over and over. Congrats. I stopped giving a fuck.

Will probably rent, seen alot of spiderman, wasn’t impressed with the 3rd at all, but we’ll see

I agree for the most part but no need to hate on the Star Trek reboot bro, I fucking loved that flick. Sure it may not have been very memorable, but it was still fun and entertaining as all hell. I agree that just about all of those movies didn’t need a reboot, but I for one am glad that Batman and Star Trek were rebooted, just because it is not needed doesn’t mean that it can’t be awesome and well-worth it. If it wasn’t for The Dark Knight then I guarantee that no one would be remembering Heath Ledger in the same manner as they are now, they would just hold him in faint memory as that guy who rode a horse in A Knight’s Tale, made love to a man in Brokeback Mountain, and was in that weird and confusing imaginarium movie.

Also, it was good to see a Star Trek movie that actually rocked your socks off and was accessible to a mainstream audience, considering that almost all of the traditional Star Trek movies after Wrath of Khan were mediocre at best and painfully boring at worst.

while I think this movie looks good and better than the other spidey movies, you can tell its not done by the same people that did the other new avenger type movies. I personally am a big fan of the Iron Man, Cap and thor movies.

The Batman reboot is shit? False. TDK’s "win" lies at one man’s feet (I assume you think that’s Heath Ledger)? False.

As far as superhero movies go, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are at the top of their game.

Will this new Spider-man be as good as a Chris Nolan Batman? Probably not. All I am saying is that it looks good, and the director has a solid movie under his belt in the same way Nolan had Memento. This doesn’t mean I am saying that 500 Days is up there with Memento either.

Ledger’s performance was by far the best. Bale is a shitty actor. He’s got one move (vacant).

The rebooting of the Batman franchise was unnecessary as it is with ANY reboot. Stop rebooting and start creating something new. I’m over the constant retelling of origin stories. I get it. His parents are dead and he’s upset. Move the fuck on already.

I can see why a Spider-Man reboot is unnecessary, but a Batman reboot was necessary to get the bad Schumacher taste out of our mouths.

Schumacher left no taste in my mouth because I simply ignored its existance. It wasn’t ‘needed’ until after it took place.

I like the thought of a new Spidey movie and the fact half the cast are my favorites. But I just don’t see how this will be any better than the original.

My hopes are low for the Spider-Man reboot only because I think Sam Rami did it right the first time … at least in Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. My expectations are almost as low as they were with the last "Conan" movie… well, not quite that low but you get the point.

What gives me hope with the Avengers is Joss Whedon who has a great handle on characters and dialogue. He also had a hand in the Captain America script to make it consistent with the Avengers.
