Pretty kickass in terms of mindless summer blockbuster fun…special effects were unreal. Some of the scenes with the suit I couldn’t tell if it was CGI or real

A lot of funny moments also.

I think the first half or 2/3rds was much stronger than the last portion but it was good overall nonetheless.

Oh, and audi dominated the film
I Loved it. it was fun, exciting and kept me smiling. A good opener to the summer movie season.

It was only OK. I gave it about a B-, but my fiends all liked it more than me.

And they have signed up Robert Downey Jr. for a 3 movie deal.
Paltrow looked the best I have ever seen her.
Our theatre was about 75% full & I expect it to win the weekend.
Saw it today and I really enjoyed it. The effects were top notch and RD Jr. is probably the most dead on as far as casting in a comic book movie so far.

seriously, he portrayed Stark as He appears in my head. Fast on his feet, quick witted and hillariously sarcastic.

I think Fury is black in the Ultimate Marvel series .

Edit: I think they casted him extremely well for the look

the “ultimate” Nick Fury was modeled after Samuel L. Jackson, in fact they asked for his permission

Iron Man was awesome. If a friend wants to go check it out, I’d go again.
I don’t really agree with the populus on this one. I’m not going to say it was a bad movie, because it wasn’t, but it seemed like the movie moved extremely slowly, and a great deal of what happened really didn’t need to happen, they could have been doing something more interesting. A more appropriate name for the film would have been “The making of Iron Man’s suit,” since literally 60% of the screentime is Tony Stark working on the various stages of the suit.

There really wasn’t that much action to speak of, and most of the good stuff was in the trailer. An all-action trailer implies an action-packed film, and that is not what we got. We got a character study. The entire time I was waiting for action scenes that were going to blow me away, but none of them did, again because they either weren’t particularly amazing, or they were in the trailer.

It was just a let-down. Bad? No, but the best movie of the year so far it isn’t. It really didn’t need to be over two hours, and a great deal of the ‘plot’ really just wasn’t necessary. And, obviously, it needed more action.
You were the one that didn’t like Transformers, too, though. Right?

loved it. the funny robots were great, though i do agree that the final battle with the other suit was a little lame in comparison to the rest of the movie.

Transformers and Iron Man are completely different. Iron Man is a fairly well-made film, that has issues with pacing and false advertisement, mostly. Transformers was a downright terrible film where I probably couldn’t say enough bad things about it to express how truly fucking awful it was.

Again, I’m not saying that Iron Man was bad, it just really didn’t do it for me, and it really didn’t live up to the hype.

Sure it’s not a masterpiece. But I watch movies to be entertained, not to pick them apart. And entertaining it was.

That’s a terrible defense I’m tired of hearing people use on this and every other movie forum, “I watch movies to be entertained, not to over-analyze them.” The implication is that I watch movies to over-analyze them, and in the process I missed out on the fun. Wrong. I only go to movies for fun, and only if I expect to enjoy them. If I think there’s hope for something I’ll go, hoping to be entertained, and unless the flaws are BLATANTLY obvious (As was the case in Transformers) I normally don’t even think about the movie at all beyond whether I enjoyed it or not until I get on a forum to discuss it.

No one goes into a movie to pick it apart and argue about it on forums, seriously, we all just want to be entertained, and saying you enjoyed it isn’t a defense of the film, it’s an opinion. It makes just as little sense as me saying that it’s bad simply because I didn’t enjoy it. Tired of people acting like I go to movies to be a dick on forums just because I know enough about them to competently analyze them after the fact.

I implicated nothing of you. I simply stated why go to movies (the I is a link that will explain what that means. It seems you are having a hard time understanding that simple word, so I figured I’d help you out). If you weren’t so full of yourself you might see that. But, since you know oh so much about movies, feel free to be an asshat on this and all the other movie forums you speak of. Mine is an opinion just the same as yours.

the sequel with warmachine is going to be fucking epic this one was more of an intro, but still a great movie.

I figured there would be something after the credits, especially after I saw %80 of the theater staying, but I’m tired of that wait until after the credits bullshit and I didn’t feel like waiting though them.
Who are the 5 retards who didn’t like the film & the other 16 morons who plan on not seeing it? Even if your not a marvel fan or a comic book fan,it’s a great movie.My wife doesn’t like comic books & doesn’t know who iron man is but loved the movie.

I was very impressed overall. A little slow for the first 20-30 minutes but after he gets home and starts building the real suit it is on. Great effects, Downey Jr. is awesome. Can’t wait for #2 and the rest of the Marvel universe flicks especially Cap America.
saw it twice. excellent movie. no over the top non stop action bullshit, and the technology was relatively plausible. decent plot. nice cinematography. good(but a little cheesy at times) character development.
I suppose some people like Batman Returns with catwoman and the penguin but it doesn’t compare to Batman Begins I think.

Ironman was fantastic… the only thing a bit blah was Gwyneth Paltrow though I love her she was the most blah of all the characters there….
Great flick.. Although the end fight scene was kina Austin Powerish with the slow draw for the kill. I wish it ended when the bad guy’s suit froze up.

I just saw the movie and thought it was great. Anyone notice Tom Morello as one of the Afghan soldiers in the cave escape scene?
So good, but it’s going to be ruined with a sequel. There’s no doubt they’re making another one.

Most of the movie was predictable, I was glad they didn’t end it with the guy frozen up, that would’ve been a pussy way out.
I don’t see movies TWICE in the movie theater too often.

Iron Man was THAT good.
