Looks like a cut scene from a video game.

It does indeed.. However I haven’t seen anything bad come from Zemeckis. I’ll be willing to give it a shot.
Yeah, I’m sure the script and direction will be good, but I just hope it’s not too distracting visually.
I’m sure you get used to it after watching it for a few minutes, especially if it’s good.

An animated movie where they are animating the characters too look like the actors.
I’ll go see it but only because we had to read it back in high school.

When they could’ve just used the real actors and make it look 10x better!
i think it looks amazing. has that cool 300 feel to it. and zemeckis is awesome. i am gonna want to see this in 3d on the big screen for sure.
I think it looks pretty interesting… I saw the trailer for it tonight at Stardust, and I’m a fan of the animated-to-look-like-the-real-actors look.

I saw the preview Sat night when we went to see Stardust, and it looks like it would be fun.
they have a restricted trailer up now with more blood and stuff. oh man am i excited to see this on the big screen, especially cuz it is in 3d.

Still looks like World of Warcraft. I’m hoping it’s great, but those graphics are killing me so far.
But if it’s 3D, it might just work out.
Theres this one trailer where at the end he screams "I, AM, BEOWULF", and the way he says it you can tell it was copied right off of "THIS IS SPARTA".

I really think what is gonna distinguish it is seeing it in 3D. I mean, I saw the trailer again over the weekend at the movies. And the difference between the big screen and my computer is enormous with this film. And I think the 3D on the big screen is going to push it over the edge in awesomeness.

3D projected at 4k usually means your gonna see more mistakes than the same image displayed at NTSC resolution, what bugs me is that this movie is entirely possible in live action but they chose to make it in 3D, which to me means that they probably just wanted to show off tech rather than make an interesting movie, i will have my doubts until i see it in person
Why can’t they show off tech and make the movie interesting? I think the style is gonna be cool and I don’t see how that is gonna take away from this classic story.

This trailer looked sick.. I love the soundtrack. Going to be a kick ass movie I think.

cuz most movies that are flashy nowadays are just attempts to make a quick stab at getting some cash =, i think the last good 3d intensive movie was probably the original matrix, what bugs me is that this movie could have been done practically, not with cg, but they chose to do it in cg anyways, in cg with technological limits, the acting is always going to be worse than in real life. No matter how many motion capture points they put on the actors face, its not going to capture all the subtle movements of muscle that can give away little traces of emotion. Also the actor themselves arnt going to feel as in thier role on a motion capture stage vs an actual set.

Im sure the action sequences in this movie is gonna be great, blood and gore galore, but that alone doesnt make a movie. If the acting sucks, if the direction sucks, then the movie is gonna suck as well
I love the Beowulf poem, yes, it’s an epic poem. I read it in highschool, I still read it today. I have the english/old english book. I have the Beowulf movie and the 13th warrior. I shall see this and then add it to my Beowulf collection. Eaters of the Dead

I am rather excited to see this.
i don’t know why they had to change the store of Beowulf in the first place. the story was good, but now i’m mad that it seems like beowulf looks like a greedy power hungry man.

Yeah, the song in the second trailer really got my psyched about seeing this. The cast is really impressive as well, very cool that they got so many big names for beowulf.

The subject matter from the trailers looks almost lord of the rings ish to me. Anyone else get that feeling?

this movie can only really go 2 ways:

either ur gonna sit there and say wow. what a good movie or u’ll be wondering why am i sitting here watching crap?

but i will see this movie none the less i suppose. there really won’t be anything else out to watch because american gangster will have already been out for 2 weeks.

Ok, just saw it today. Pretty damn good flick. The animation technique was a little lifeless in some spots, but for the most part it wasn’t bad. And the 3D was absolutely beautiful. Very sharp. So I recommend it highly.
i’m not going to see it in theatres. Maybe on DVD. I still think that the line "I am Beowulf" sounds a lot like that guy from 300. Maybe the same guy?

I kind of wondered what the rating was while watching it, but I guess the MPAA rates animated nudity different than real nudity. There were a couple scenes where you could see the shape of Grendel’s Mother’s (Angelina) nipple.

I think the trailers really don’t do the movie justice. In certain scenes the rendering looks very life-like, and in others they look very CGish. We saw it in 3D on an Imax screen last night and I liked it a lot. I would think the experience won’t be as good on a T.V. unless you have a nice set up.
My friends said it was good. They recommend seeing it in IMAX with the 3d glasses.
The movie was gorgeous. the only way to see it is in 3d, you honestly jump back or cringe at multiple times, i don’t know if i can go back to regular movies now

the only slight problem was that sometimes the young girls’ faces looked plastic

+1 on seeing it in 3D. Technology wise, this it the best 3D movie I have ever seen. I think movie houses would be smart to encourage studios to make more 3-D movies to get people out of their home theatres.

Do not wait for video or a download, looses too much.

I like the way Gaiman made the story more 3dimensional too compared to the original epic.
