Batman Begins Sequel

Anyone else feel like me? The first time I saw Batman Begins, I thought, "I hope they redo the whole series, cause this one fuckin rocked." I watched it again tonight , after watching Batman and Batman Returns last night. Messing around on google, and found quite a bit about sequels, with Christian Bale as Batman again.

The Latest "Batman Begins" Sequel Talk

With the "Batman Begins" DVD almost upon us, rumours have begun ramping up again about the proposed sequel – mostly in relation to the title. Today a scooper by the name of ‘Washington Post’ has sent along a good summation report of where the project stands, re-iterating some old points, washing away others and adding one or two new rumours to the mix:

"I’ve read a heap of CRAP on sites about the film being called THIS or THAT, and that it’s going to star HIM or HER, and have THAT character in it. I can tell you that MOST of it – isn’t true.

Firstly, this guy, Lachy Hulme must be tooting his own horn. He’s apparently known as the "who is this guy?" around the Bat-traps. I don’t think he’s got much of a chance in The Joker stakes. Paul Bettany, on the other hand, he’s definitely one that’s been discussed. Mark Hammil? Crispin Glover? Sean Penn? – BS. Several names have been mentioned, branded about – in addition to Bettany – like Ryan Reynolds, Michael Keaton (no kidding), and Johnny Depp – but its way too early to be saying so-and-so has got the role.

OK, next. Katie Holmes – despite what the press is saying, how she wrecked the film and all – will be back. She might not be back (SPOILER ALERT) for the whole movie (SPOILER END), but she will be back.

HARVEY DENT will be in the film. He won’t be TWO-FACE until the sequel after, but he will be a main part of the next sequel. At the moment, it looks like Liev Schrieber, has got the gig. Also returning are Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Linus Roache. The same effects team, composer James Newton Howard, the same costume designer – all back.

Couple of new ‘secondary’ characters (like ‘Falcone’ was in the last one) here too. One being talked about – Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin. They’re working on costume mocks for that now – I don’t know that it’s for sure that Cobblepot will ‘transform’ in this one though, or that they’re just going to introduce him. They want a (kinda amusing) "Harvey Weinstein" type – but not necessarily a naturally-fat guy – just someone that can pull it off effectively".

Don’t expect much in the way of official answers to questions either. In an interview this week, Chris Nolan repeatedly said he couldn’t go into details about the sequel.

Untitled Batman Begins Sequel (2008)

wow can’t wait. I loved that movie!

i don’t mind katie holmes dying in the second one..atleast that’s what seems to be implied. i hate her acting.

I’d love to see depp play the joker. he’d be great in that role.

i wish cillian murphy could bak but i know that’s a no

He’s a great actor, he could pull it off.
I dont really get why everyone hates katie holmes in this movie. In every other movie is a different story. I really had no problem with her here.

And I am with you, I am looking forward to this enire new series as well. But all that info sounds like a bunch of speculation.
I’m waiting for the prequel: "Batman Conceived"
Batman Begins was crap. I pray they do not make another one.

and batman forever was great?

There were better candidates for the part. 2 that I know of that would have been better IMO.

You’re an idiot.
Batman Begins was the shisnit! cant wait for the rest of the series.
they should just make a batman beyond on have an asian chick playing the role of the heroine
They need to sign Morgan Freeman for the sequel also.

Adrien Brody as the joker

Batman Begins screenwriter David Goyer was surprisingly candid about plans for future Bat-sequels in an interview that appears in the latest issue of Premiere Magazine, according to Empire Online.

Essentially confirming longtime Web rumors, Goyer is said to have advised the mag, "The next one would have Batman enlisting the aid of [Jim] Gordon and [D.A. Harvey] Dent in bringing down the Joker… but not killing him, which is a mistake they made in the first one. … In the third, the Joker would go on trial, scarring Dent in the process" and thus creating Two-Face.

So maybe fans will see Guy Pearce as Harvey Dent after all?

Joker has always been my favorite villain.

Are you sure you’re not mistaking it for Batman & Robin?

Nga plz, this movie was one of the best releases in the cinema this year. The whole franchise has been reinvented for the better. I can’t fucking wait for the sequel, the last scene sent shivers up my spine.
Bale had the perfect Batman voice. They BETTER make a sequel.
This was the best Batman yet. It wasnt as cartoonish as the last few have been. I liked Batman and Batman forever but the rest were crap. I really hope they make a sequel with this current cast and director. I really hope they redo the one with the Penquin.

Depp as Joker would be pretty cool.
It is one of my Fav’s of the year.

I can’t wait for the 2nd one.

hell yeah

They are working on a sequel but from what I hear, Bale wont be Batman which is a mistake in my opinion.

haha your sources suck. /part life pls
they need to bring back billy D. williams to play 2 face again
Batman Begins was great, I’m hope they are redo-ing the series
Jack Nicholson as joker > any other person they get to play the joker

to bad he’s to old to play the part again

Jack Nicholson as joker > any other person they get to play the joker

he didnt look the part tho

Nope.
No they didn’t redo the serious this is just following a different story. Just like the supermans and the spider mans and the xmens. It more closely follows the darker psychological theme of the comics and .

Thank God Christian Bale is playing Batman again.

OK, next. Katie Holmes – despite what the press is saying, how she wrecked the film and all – will be back. She might not be back (SPOILER ALERT) for the whole movie (SPOILER END), but she will be back.

That sucks… she really did a crap job of it!

… and then at the same time it was being released went about with Tom Cruise shouting about "War of the Worlds" more than "Batman: Begins"… stupid lady

I agree, and it was a good move because the people who will end up watching this movie are more familiar with ‘that’ Batman. They’re probably gonna do something with The Long Halloween
I think Katie Holmes was unfairly bashed for her role because of her ridiculous (embarrassing) personal life. I didn’t think that she was bad at all in the movie. Had the whole Cruise fiasco not been starting right when I went to see it I probably would have liked her even more.

I agree that movie sucked worse batman yet
I was reading other places that they may be bringing back the penguin and the joker. I thought all of these characters were killed off the the past batman movies. WTF???

They realized the first movies all sucked, so they’re re-doing them.
BReturns = Penquin and Catwoman
B&R = Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Batgirl
BForever = Riddler and TwoFace
BBegins = Scarecrow

I really hope that the cast of this new movie get thorat cancer and drop dead. It’s bad enough that Hollywood hasn’t made a decent original movie in years, now they wanna re-make Batman movies? Besides, they’re out of Batman bad guys.

you should be shot in the face for saying tim burtons batman + jack nicholson sucked

This has been the best movie yet. The others have been a joke (the only decent character has been the Joker).

They are starting over with these movies, doing it right this time…not so cartoonish and over the top.

Maybe you’re right with a few of them, but maybe I’m just getting REALLY tired of Hollywood re-hasing old movies.
