opens tomorrow! i think this movie looks awesome. sounds like a good thriller. between this and transformers shia might be in my favorite movies this year.
I’m intrested in seeing it. Don’t know about it being a favorite of the year becuase there is so much good shit coming out this year. I can’t wait for Spiderman 3
It will be interesting to see if Shia LaBeouf can pull off his first adult role after being a Nick/Disney boy for so long.
i really think he will. i have been seeing some great reviews about him. i am interested to see how he does on snl tomorrow night. looks like my boss is letting me out early today so i think im gonna catch an afternoon showing. great start to the weekend for me!

As if the first one wasn’t bad enough. I only watched the first one because of QT’s exaggerated claims that it was going to be the goriest movie ever. It failed at even that. If it wasn’t for the tits it might have been the first movie I ever walked out on.
Something we agree on. I still can’t believe QT had anything to do with such a dumb movie >.>
It will probably suck big time, but I’ll still go see it to see if the gore scenes are any good.
i seriously dont get how people said that the first one set the standards for gore nowadays…..sure there were some ok gorey parts but seriously….they by no means set any standards…..im just assuming that roth is remaking the first one since the first one sucked it up so much

So, due to job reasons I’m having to leave Toronto and will move to Houston for a few years. Movies are among the many things that I need to sort out: in Toronto, there’s quite a number of arthouse/historic cinemas, which I love and frequent. I have no idea what this scene is like in Houston (or nearby places in Texas). Anyone from there? What are some good places that screen classic and/or contemporary films?
Someone’s already mentioned the Angelika Theater to me, and it looks promising (although it seems focused on contemporary rather than classic showings). Better yet, there’s also the Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s Film section, which is showing classics like "Black Orpheus", "Walkabout", "Kwaidan", "Sansho the Bailiff", "Knife in the Water", "WR: Mysteries of the Organism", "Madame de …", "Wild Strawberries", "The Seventh Seal" and "Seven Samurai" over the coming months. That’s pretty much exactly the kind of stuff I’m looking for.

My favorite is Paul Thomas Anderson,
Boogie Nights, Magnolia, & Punch Drunk Love.
My other favorites are Scorsese, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, & Taxi Driver.
I also like Cronenberg, what a brilliant, twisted imagination he has.
Meh, very hard question i guess Spielberg, just grew up with his flicks. Also his movies never look boring because of the angles he chooses, and stuff that happen in background.
PTA is definately one of my faves (every actor in his movie really truly acts, even shitty ones).

Looks to me like it might be the most unintentionally funny movies of the summer.
amirite?
Jamie, Earl’s ex, as an action hero?
I watched it last night, it wasn’t as terrible as I thought’d it be, still incredibly stupid though.
Definitely guilty pleasure – I saw it on Google Video a few months ago, and you should do the same. Don’t waste your money. = )

A good thriller about what if feels like to be an intelligent serial killer.
How it is more of a addiction than a power trip.
And while the subplot with Demi Moore started out slow, it was interesting to watch the interplay with her & Costner.
Dane Cook? Worst part of the movie.
I reallllly liked this movie. When I saw the trailer, I thought Dane Cook was someone who was going to blackmail Mr. Brooks and thought that was a weak played out idea, but luckly I was wrong. I didn think Dane Cook was bad, and I hate him
